Writing Tips for writing Thank You notes
I often get comments like, "I don’t like writing Thank You cards because I’m not that good with words." "I seem to have writer’s block." "I want to sound sincere but never really know what to say besides, "Thank You’."
Getting a note or a card is such a special gift that you don’t have to say much of anything. Just the fact that you took the time to do it says a lot right there. Write your thank you notes in the same style that you speak. Use contractions. They’re more personal. They’ll make your notes sould more like you.
Just be yourself. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece. The recipient will be very pleased to get anything from you that basically is saying, "Thanks" for whatever it is that you are thankful for.
As I have alluded to this before, the permanence of a card or letter means so much more than a phone call. Many times recipient of a card or note that was thoughtfully written is saved for who knows how long and even shared with others. It has a tremendous impact.
The same goes for a simple line or two added at the bottom of a birthday card or Christmas card.
