Holiday Shortcuts for Sending Personal Christmas Cards

Ways to Reduce stress by Simplifying your Christmas Card Routine

There are several steps you can take to simplify your system
for sending personal Christmas cards that will reduce your stress to a
minimum.  We all like to receive Christmas cards from our family and friends
- to catch up on news about them and their families, but consider sending them
stressful and expensive. It doesn’t have to be that way and I will try in the
next few paragraphs to give some tips to help you.

First of all, shorten your list. You may feel obligated to send a Christmas card to
everyone you know, but surely there are some you could cut. Are there people
you used to exchange cards with regularly who have dropped you from their list?
Are there people you might actually not even notice or not be offended if you
didn’t send them a card? Also, how about those whom you see fairly frequently
who already know what is going on in your life? Do they really need a card?

Instead of trying to hand write a special note in every card about the family,
type out a Christmas letter and insert it in the Christmas card. That way, you
can actually give them a lot more information than you could handwriting it,
you can then just sign the card, and you will save a lot of time. Everybody
wins in that situation.

Order your Christmas cards early. Besides getting a discount, you can then take your time
and just do a few at a time, address and stamp them and just save them in a
pile until you are ready to send them. If you do want to still scrawl a
personal note on each, it won’t seem like such a chore if you are only doing a
few at a time and your handwriting will look better than if you are trying to
do a lot at once. I hope these tips help.
