Have you noticed that there is a lot of repetition when it comes to Christmas songs during the weeks leading up to Christmas? Have you also noticed that they are being played earlier and earlier every year? It’s kind of like the decorations. Before we even get through Halloween, the stores and streets are already decorated for Christmas!

The reason for the repeat of Christmas songs is that there really aren’t that many and because many radio stations don’t want to play "religious" songs, that limits the selection even more. When you have a station that is playing exclusively Christmas songs during that time, there is going to be a lot of repetition. I’m sure that this is not an exhaustive list, but here are the main Christmas songs that can be heard continuously leading up to Christmas:

Since the selection is so limited, you might hear any one of these over 700 times if you were to listen continuously the weeks leading up to Christmas. Interestingly enough, some of these songs have set the theme for many different Christmas card designs.
