Who really likes the kicker in a football game?  Do fans really value what this one foot can do for a team?  Having grown up playing soccer, I really appreciate the kicker on a football team and feel they too should have special photo Christmas cards created to remember how valuable they really are.

Just today I watched a few football games where the kicker ended up being the star of the entire game.  One kicker hit a game winning field goal from 40+ yards out to complete a huge national upset.  Another kicker luckily bounced an extra point off the cross bar and then between the uprights to seal the victory late in the fourth quarter.  Even though the kickers may not being the biggest or strongest player on the field, they contribute in quite an important way.

Some of the pictures you could take for photo Christmas cards include the hold before the kick, the snap, the placement of the ball with the “laces out”, the swinging back of the leg prior to contact, the defensive player diving to block the kick, the ball on its way to the cross bars, and of course, the ball splitting the uprights.  The celebration would be a great way to tie all these fond memories together.
