Scrapbooking is a hot industry right now. According to the Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, scrapbooking
…respondents have a family-oriented culture, are economically upscale, are well educated, and have an extensive communications network with others involved with the hobby. However, retail competition is intense and growing stronger as 4,000 independent scrapbooking stores struggle to compete against 15,000 well-established large chains. Smaller stores are failing because of a lack of marketing and finance acumen. Those smaller operations that want to survive will have to cater to well-defined niches.
Is this a craze or what? Why can’t photo Christmas cards be a similar craze?
Here’s how we can combined the two ideas:
- Go to your local scrapbook store.
- Find the perfect embellishment (or sticker) for your card. Even large retailers like Target carry these products.
- Add things that relate to your picture. You can make a summer picture “Christmas-like” by putting holiday decorations around it.
When it comes to your Christmas cards, you can be as creative as you want. The good news is since embellishments are made to go on scrapbook pages they aren’t too bulky. They can fit inside your envelope, ready to be mailed this Christmas.
