A set of napkin rings and a personalized Christmas Card will be a fabulous gift for your loved ones. This is quite possibly one of the easiest, and most fun family crafts, that I have posted so far.
Here’s what you will need:
Wired Ribbon (the type with the wire along the edges)
Cool Glue Gun
Decorating Accessories (sequins, glitter, fobs, cutesy items, etc)
The directions:
Get a cloth napkin to assist with measuring the length of ribbon to be cut. Lay it flat on the table and grab the center point, pulling upwards. Set aside as it is now gathered. Take a length of wired ribbon, measure for needed distance. You want the ribbon to completely encircle the napkin and have an inch or so of extra length. Cut the ribbon. Use that piece of ribbon to cut several others.
Next, use the cool glue gun to affix the ends of the ribbon together. That’s the basic napkin ring! I told you it was easy. Now, for the fun part…
Look in your craft drawer or at your local craft supplies for items to decorate the ribbon. How about:
- Sequins
- Glitter
- Jewels
- Puff paint
- Glitter pens
- Paint pens
- Floral Sprays
- Little Christmas ornaments
- Small pictures of the family
- Guest nametags
- Beautiful bows
Clearly, the options are endless. If you have your kiddos helping, have them create a set of cartoon character napkin rings. Use them if you have a special meal for the kids.
Every year, grandparents love to get homemade gifts from their grandchildren. Make them in a color that they love with objects that the children choose. It is a wonderful way to personalize Christmas!
