Personalized Towels for the Holidays
Personalized holiday cards and personalized towels are a great combination for the holidays! I have always wanted to learn to sew, but just haven’t done it yet. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t personalize towels with my trusty laptop and printer.
You will need:
- an image
- a computer and printer
- transfer and plain printer paper
- an iron and ironing spot
- towels
Creating iron on transfers with your computer is amazingly easy. First, find an image you like. It could be a photograph, a special drawing that you scan, a design you create with software. Next, print it out on plain paper. Use this as your template to ensure it looks the way you want it to and fits properly for the size of the towel. Finally, print out the design on the transfer paper.
Next, set up an ironing spot where you have plenty of room to iron. Smooth out the part of the towel that is to recieve the transfer. Do not fold the towel back upon itself. One layer of fabric, please. Place the image according to where you would like it to be, making sure the proper side of the transfer paper is facing down. Iron across all parts of the image, being careful not to scorch. Wait for the image to cool, remove paper.
Using transfers creates a wonderful, personalized towel that is a great, and affordable, gift for the holidays.
