Photo Christmas Cards of our 10K Run Continued

Now that I’m alive and sort of well, I wanted to give you a few more ideas for photo Christmas cards if you ever run in a 10K race like my spouse and I (or any race for that matter).  I’m not bragging or anything, I just figured sharing such a “rewarding” and “memorable” experience with all of your loved-ones would have to be the perfect photo Christmas card!

Yeah right!  It was awful!  Not only was the wind blowing in our faces most of the time making it feel like we were constantly running up hill, but we were also so unprepared for the distance that by the end of the 2nd mile, we were looking to throw in the towel.  Luckily the thought of photo Christmas cards was on our mind.

I thought of a few other poses we could add to our collage of the race.

  • A jpg. image of the actual map of the race. Our family and friends have to envision in their minds what it’d be like to actually run so far.  They may even be able to drive the race when they come to town thanks to our photo Christmas cards.
  • A jpg. image of the exact number of steps we took during the whole race.  We’d only have to count one mile or so of the race and then just give an average.  It’d be a fun statistic to share.
  • I’d like to include a picture of other runners coming in after us, just to entertain my competitive side.
  • Maybe we could pose with the winners of the race.  We could label the picture, “This will be us next year!”
  • Post race exhaustion!  This would be fitting, don’t you think?  My spouse and I sprawled out, gasping for air, and ready to keel over.

The race wasn’t actually as bad as it could have been.  We are glad we did it together and will look forward to sharing this “memorable” experience with all those we love this Christmas season.
