Photo Christmas Cards can be designed from your own photos.

We’ll explore how to do this later this week. But first, especially since your Photo Christmas Card will be something that will be a “hard copy” sent by “snail mail” rather than an electronic document, I’d recommend one final pre-step- printing out your source photo to see how it looks.

You can print digital photographs in a variety of ways. Each method has their its advantages and disadvantages. Perhaps the most convenient way is by using to use your computer printer.

Our trusty (hopefully!) computer printer is a handy way to print photographs, but the printer may might lack the resolution, specialized ink, and paper-carrying capacity to produce quality prints.

Relatively inexpensive card photo printers can print small photos directly from the camera. No computer is necessary.

Some photo printers hook up to a digital camera, and is able to can produce a hard-copy image.

Several Web-based photo processing services, such as RitzPix.com, turn digital photo files into printed pictures.

In many parts of the United .States., rRitzPix.com provides store pickup of digital photo prints in as little as four hours.

Kodak’s KodakGallery.com is another popular digital photo- printing service. The average price for eight by ten prints is $3.99 apiece, plus shipping.

Photo-printing software offers special functionalities, including templates to create standard- size prints, as well as templates for photo albums. This task focuses on prints generated by Photo Smart, one of Hewlett-Packard’s photo- printing software packages.
