Red Moon, Earthquakes & A Box Of Photo Christmas Cards Saved

For some people February 20th-21st, could have easily been mistake as Armageddon.

Hours after taking pictures of an eerie red moon, caused by a complete lunar eclipse, some people in northern Nevada found themselves taking pictures of devastation caused by an earthquake in the early morning. As one witness commented, “red moon, earthquakes…I thought the end of the world was here”. He was one of many who had to take pictures of his destroyed home for insurance purposes and memorabilia sake.

To make matters worse, school was suspended due to the damage of the school buildings. (Not so good for the parents who are trying to take care of the aftermath). That part of Nevada was also informed snow and cold were headed their way. That gave people very little time to protect their belongings that were now exposed to the weather, especially in the cases where the roofs had holes in them.

On a happier note, one resident rescued what she considered to be one of her most precious belongings. It was an old shoe box that happened to contain many years worth of photo Christmas cards, special letters and other keepsakes.

If you had one thing (other than animals and humans) that  you could save, what would it be?
