This was a random thought I had while working on an advertising campaign for college bowl games in 2007.  I’ve seen businesses send mailers that have statements like “Sponsored in part by…” or “’My Business Name’ wishes you the best this Holiday Season” Why not do this on photo Christmas cards?

I come from a really big family.  We probably all send out over 200 photo Christmas cards each year to friends, family members, and acquaintances in our area.  There are about 50 couples in my direct and extended family, all of which use photo Christmas cards.  If a local business focused on our family as a marketing opportunity, they could probably reach over 10,000 homes directly.

Not only would this be great public relations strategy for small to medium sized businesses, but they could also include a small coupon or something to track their ROI.  I guarantee, if my family got a coupon to go to a local restaurant and could save 10% or something like that on their total order, they would definitely use it and probably take friends too.  If a business isn’t doing this already, they should be, don’t you think?
