Turn Your Honeymoon Photos Into a Photo Christmas Card

Take a look at that nice young couple on the right side of this post.

While yes, that comes from one of our Christmas cards, I’ve included this photo Christmas card in this post in order to suggest a way that you can have a wedding or honeymoon photo taken and then turn that photo into a Christmas card.

Let’s assume that this is your wedding or honeymoon photo. It’s not hard to figure out where this photo was either taken, or is symbolic of. If you’ve guessed Hawaii, you’d be correct.

Now there’s two factors to think about. Hawaii is warm, and in most of North America, Christmas temperatures are going to be rather low. There’s a reason why one popular song of the season bears the verse, “the weather outside is frightful.”

Now back to our photo. If you and your spouse actually have a Hawaii honeymoon photo handy, you can either use professional photo and card services to integrate more Christmas-y themes in your card. Just one suggestion would be the Jack Frost on the left side of our card. Sometimes, this type of art can be had for free, or a nominal fee.

I’ll write more about clip art in a subsequent post, but you have the idea.

Oh, but what if you didn’t honeymoon in Hawaii, or did but have no suitable photo handy? Well, there are plenty of Hawaiian shirts for sale in your local mall, and plenty of similar arrangements you both can wear around your necks.

Then, just have your picture taken. And your photo doesn’t have to be professionally done. Most digital cameras can be set at 300 dpi (dots per inch) or above.

Tomorrow I will write about how to compose your shot. Then on Thursday I will write about clip art. Friday, I will write about how to combine the clip art you find with the photo you want to use for your photo Christmas card.
