Today I would like to continue on from yesterday’s underwater photo Christmas cards idea and give you some tips to help you out. 

Many people think you need to be rich and have an expensive underwater digital camera to get some great underwater pictures. Guess what? You don’t! Anyone can do this and you don’t have to be rich. Sure underwater digital cameras are the most ideal because they generally give you a clear picture, you can delete the pictures you don’t like, and you can easily upload the pictures onto the computer. But there is another way…

A few years back my $400 underwater camera broke and I was forced to buy one of those underwater disposable cameras. To my surprise, the prints turned out beautifully clear. To make the prints digital and upload them onto the computer all I had to do was scan them into my scanner.  If you don’t have a scanner, check with your local copy center, library, college, photographer, neighbor, etc. Once your photos are digital you can submit them to any online resource, including us for your photo Christmas cards.

One last tip for you on this matter…To have a quality print, it makes a big difference who develops your original film. If the developer doesn’t change out the chemicals often enough, the quality and the colors are not as clear and it will scan that way.  Beware of rushed photo developing services, because often the care isn’t put into them that’s needed for this particular project.
