As this week has been about baseball and the different ways you can tie in “America’s Pastime” with photo Christmas cards, I figured there couldn’t be a better topic than the World Series. It’s the most decisive championship game of all sports in my opinion.

Here’s why:

• The Baseball Championship is a Series, not a one game fluke:  If you think about it, in order to actually win the World Series, you have to win the best of 7 games.  The Super Bowl requires one game.  To me, that seems more like a Cinderalla team could win and not necessarily be the best team.  Basketball is a close second for a decisive championship game too - it’s a series as well.
• So many players have to contribute individually to win a championship.  In baseball, every player has to go to the plate and make his contribution.  Other sports rely on roles but there are certain players that do all the scoring.  Baseball teams have to be more well balanced in order to seal a victory.
• Have you ever tried to hit a 9 inch, 5 ounce ball flying at upwards of 95 miles per hour?  What more do I have to say here?  The art of hitting is so difficult that even the best of the best only hit about 3 or 4 out of 10 times.  This takes persistence, patience and dedication.

So there you have it.  Baseball is a great sport.  It definitely deserves to be part of your photo Christmas card collection.
