Desperate times call for desperate measures, as was the case in this Valentines wedding. It was actually more of a recommitment service where 19 couples renewed their vows at Grove City United Methodist Church.

Sheila Smith and her husband, Bob, were one of those 19 couples that were supposed to renew their vows that day. Unfortunately Bob had to go on a business trip and wouldn’t make it back in time. So Sheila simply planned on being the matron of honor for four of the other couples (also close friends of hers).

Instead Sheila was surprised when she found a blowup alter-ego of her husband standing before her ready to take the vows. I guess her friends didn’t want her to feel sad and left out. The life-sized blowup doll wore dress pants, a shirt, a tie and included a headshot cut out photo of her husband Bob. When she called and told Bob, he laughed so hard he couldn’t speak.

I think it would hilarious to use one of the pictures from this “wedding” for their next years photo Christmas cards.
