How Design Crafters has come to be a leader in the online Christmas Card industry

Design Crafters and Christmas cards - A Cinderella Story

I will try to wrap up our story here in this
post.  Over the years, particularly the summers as my son was home from
college, he would help to develop our Christmas card site and it has come a
long way since the beginning when there were no tools available and he had to
do everything from scratch. He still does most everything from scratch, but now
it’s by choice.

As my daughter got older, she learned how to do graphics work in Photoshop and
started helping me by doing the logos and custom verses - virtually any and all
of the custom work that comes along with so many of our Christmas card orders.

My younger son, who was in kindergarten when I started this business, has
helped in the last few years by running errands to the paper supply warehouse,
the printer, the post office, etc. It has literally become a family affair.

The first two have graduated debt free with a nice (paid off) car, and the
older son holding down a high paying job out in southern California.
My daughter continues to work with me full time and my younger son has his car
and is enjoying his second year at University working on his business degree.

Now we have two full time employees, besides myself and 6 part time who come
during our busy months to help us get through the busy season. God has richly
blessed our business and we have a great time together loving what we do:
Helping others to experience touching base with family, friends, and clients
with beautiful Christmas cards with touching sentiments that they can be proud
of.  Take time to browse our Christmas cards. I’m sure you will find something
appropriate for almost any circumstance or taste.

More on Business Christmas Cards

Which types of Christmas cards are most suitable for business?

We already discussed how important it is to send only
tasteful Christmas cards for Business. A naked Santa might be funny, but really
is not appropriate coming from a business. You may think a humorous Christmas card is
hilarious, but this is not the time to test to see if your clients have a good
sense of humor.

Your best bet is to stick with traditional themes and messages to make the best
impression. Create a custom verse to thoughtfully express your appreciation for
the relationship you have with your clients and for their patronage.

Also handmade Christmas cards may show a lot of care because of the time
involved in making them, but if you are not an artist or professional, they are
not going to be the kind of quality you can get with professionally designed
and manufactured cards.

You really should buy the best Christmas cards you can afford. If you settle
for cheap Christmas cards, you are going to look cheap. There is no tactful way
to say it. If you are cheap, it will show.

Also, be aware of your clients’ religious beliefs. Not everyone celebrates
Christmas, so may decide in your case that you might be better off to send a
card that expresses a generic "Season’s Greetings," or "Happy
Holidays
." We have hundreds of Christmas cards that were created just for
that reason. Check them out on this Christmas card site.

2006 Christmas Card Catalogs Are Now Available

If you are one wanting to choose your Christmas card early, you can get started right now.

Each year our suppliers are trying harder and harder to select their line of Christmas Cards to carry for the following year and get that information to us as soon as possible.

Many of our customers it seems, like to get this chore out of the way as soon as they can. We are trying our best to accommodate those "early birds" and we really appreciate those who take care of this task early because then we have fewer jumping on the wagon after Thanksgiving when things really get heated up.

The only problem is that when we get so many requests too early, we just don’t know if a particular card is coming back. We are actually in the process of updating our site with some new information and have labled it such so you will know if a particular card is available or not.

In the meantime, we have received our new paper Christmas card catalogs and would be more than happy to send you one if it would help in your selection process. We don’t have a lot of these images online yet, but hope to get them in time to have them up in a couple of weeks or so.

As soon as we know that a particular card is going to be available this season, it will say so in the description. If it doesn’t say, it just means that we don’t know yet. As soon as we know that a card is not returning this year, we will delete it from the site. It may be awhile however before we know this information.

To request a catalog, please go to our Christmas card site and scroll down to find the "Sample Cards" link around the bottom of the left column and just type in "Christmas Card Catalog" and give us your mailing info and we will send it right out to you.
