A Surprise Christmas Wedding - Photo Christmas Cards

Can you imagine having a surprise wedding? Some would ask, “How could you not know you were getting married? How can you have a surprise wedding?”

Back in 1942 an unsuspecting young lady went to spend Christmas with the love of her life who was awaiting orders in Texas to be shipped off to Europe during WW2. When she got there she was surprised with a Christmas Eve wedding that he had arranged for them. She wasn’t expecting to get married. She just thought she was going to visit.

Previous to this, she had apparently told him she wouldn’t marry him because she wanted a big wedding, but he didn’t have any money. The wedding was apparently big enough for her, because they were married that Christmas Eve.
He must have also been pretty confident she loved him and she’d say yes to go through all the wedding planning (especially after that conversation).  I’d imagine the pending orders to go to war was also a big motivating factor for him.

Now residing in senior living facility, 65 years later, with the help of the staff, her husband pulled it off again. On Christmas Eve she was surprised with yet another wedding where they renewed their vows in front of three generations of their family.  I hope they got some great pictures to use for next years photo Christmas cards.

I hope you enjoyed this story in our photo Christmas cards blog.

Have a great day.

Married By Santa - Photo Christmas Cards

Colorado tends to have a magical affect on people, especially during the holidays. Perhaps it’s the fresh air or the beautiful snow covered mountains. Whatever it is, it seems to bring people very unique people together, with very unique ideas.

On Christmas Day a couple from Congress Park, Colorado, who originally met at a Christmas party, had the wonderful privilege of being married by Santa Claus. Ok ok, so maybe it wasn’t the real Santa Claus, as he was more than likely resting from a long night of delivering toys. This Santa Claus was however a real minister. Out of about 500 couples he’s wed, this is his first Christmas Day wedding he’d performed. Being the first Christmas Day wedding, one must not pass up the opportunity to dress as Santa.
Not only was Santa involved in the marriage, but the couple was also engaged while visiting Santa at the mall.
In celebration of the Christmas season, both the bride and groom were dressed in red and as their Christmas backdrop, they used Mother Nature herself.  Why spend your money on expensive decorations when you can use natural and free snow.
I hope you enjoyed this wedding story in today’s photo Christmas cards blog.
