Jamaica Plains Famous Christmas House & Crown Jewel For Sale
If you’re from around Jamaica Plains, you’re probably familiar with the Arborway home that is famous for its Christmas displays, specifically the giant golden crown that sits on top of the home.
For the past two Christmas seasons, owner Dominic Luberto has created a Christmas wonderland that attracts hundreds of sightseers from miles around.
Last fall Luberto decided to add more to the 500,000 lights, inflatable characters and reindeer and sleigh by including a 10 foot high, 650 pound golden crown sitting on top of his three story house. The estimated power bill last year was $11,000.
Hopefully you were one of the lucky ones that got some pictures of the place for next years photo Christmas cards, because it may have been your last chance. Jamaica Plains crown jewel is now on the market. The gorgeous 7 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home that was originally built in 1760, is simply too big for the three person family who lives there. Luberto has also pledged to take the next two years off from his Christmas decorating, even if they still own the house.
Perhaps that’s really the reason or perhaps the neighbors are driving the family out. While the Christmas display has been loved by many, there has been an outcry from opposing neighbors. The neighbors have continuously complained about the light pollution, waste of electricity, tackiness of the displays and traffic congestion. For those people I would have to say bah humbug. Lighten up and live a little.
