Sizes of Photo Christmas Cards
I’ve been doing more and more research on specifics of photo Christmas cards, including color combinations. Today I want to talk about the size. The question I have is “Does size really matter?” Yes, this is a funny question for a variety of reasons but seriously, what is the best size for a photo Christmas card?
One source gives four different size options: 4.25 x 6, 6 x 8.5, 6, x 11, and 8.5 x 11. Personally, I think a few of these sizes are a bit big. I mean come on, an 8.5 x 11 photo Christmas card - are you kidding? How do you expect anyone to actually display that on their refrigerator? If not a refrigerator, where do people store these cards? Do they just look at them and then throw them away? Does a person who sends a card that big want to reserve a full spot in their friends scrapbook? Do people that make cards that big have an inferiority complex? All valid questions don’t you think?
Even the 6 x 8.5 size is pushing it. I think you need to be considerate of others and realize you are not the only fish in the sea. Another questions about size is horizontal versus vertical - which is better? I’ve seen some cards where the picture is placed vertically with a message below. I’ve also seen the horizontal pose, which seems to be more common. Let me know what you all think.
