If you’ve always wanted to go on an African safari, but you know traveling afar is not a realistic option for you right now, there is a more immediate solution. (Assuming you live on the North American continent that is). If you really want to impress your friends with an “African safari” photo Christmas card, you may want to consider visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida.

This really isn’t an ad for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but I couldn’t resist the thought of photo Christmas cards featuring a giraffe, lions, wildebeests or some other African animal in a realistic looking “African savannah” background.  I’ve never been there myself, so I hopped online to see what Disney’s Animal Kingdom was all about and to get some ideas for photo Christmas Cards.

Many rooms at the Animal Kingdom resort actually overlook the “African savannah”, not from afar but up close. According to some pictures I saw, it looks like it’s literally in the room’s “backyard”. The one picture I’m specifically thinking of actually showed giraffes outside just off the guest’s room balcony. That would be a great opportunity for a photo Christmas card. That’s when you line up the family with the giraffe and savannah in the background. There’s no guarantee the giraffes will be as close to as it is in their picture, but if they are, waste no time and get that picture.
