Frontier family photo Christmas cards are always a hit. You can be sure those ones will be appreciated and less likely to be thrown away.

Once when I was at Disneyland I saw an entire family dressed up in frontier clothing. As I watched in curiosity for a few minutes, it appeared their costumes were so convincing that many people thought they were employed by Disney and were characters out of Davy Crocket, thus wanting autographs. At first the family was surprised and tickled people were asking for their autograph but later when I saw them again, they seemed a little annoyed that people kept pestering them.

As it turns out, this was their second trip to Disneyland and they wanted to get take their family photos in Disney’s Frontierland. Instead of dragging around extra clothes they just decided to go and stay in costume.   Besides, there are many kids that dress up like Disney princesses or Buzz Lightyear when they go to Disneyland. So why not a frontier family?

The beauty of photography is that you only need a small area to “shoot” that looks like the real place and no one can ever tell what else is surrounding it. They’re picture turned out perfectly. They looked like the real deal. Who knows, perhaps 200 years from now that picture will still be around and it will really throw off the historians ;0)

Now whether or not they used this family photo for their photo Christmas cards, I don’t know. But it sure would be a good idea.
