Do you want to make photo Christmas cards that people will really remember and actually keep to look at for years to come?

People throw away Christmas cards all the time but it breaks my heart when I see people throw away photo Christmas cards that were sent from a friend or family member. I once asked someone why they threw it away, they made the comment “it’s just another picture of them”. They loved this family but apparently this receiver had many “stale” pictures of this family. So in other words, there wasn’t anything special about this picture. There was nothing that made it stand out from the rest.  That is such a waste of the sender’s time and money. However, in the defense of the receiver, it’s annoying to hang onto a million photos that look the same.

You need something unique. Something that will make people smile and actually want to keep the picture.

The following idea is a little bit of extra work but it achieved the desired goal. This family actually dressed up as Santa’s Elves. Pointy ears and everything. Apparently dad had connections to the film and stage industry and had a makeup artist apply the ears and rosy cheeks. He also had a custom manager find some very cute elf costumes for the entire family. The baby pulled off elf the best.

Connections are a wonderful thing to have. You never know what kind of connections you have until you start asking around. It’s amazing what you’ll come up with.
