The Most Frugal Gift…

Today Kansacity.com featured an article named Presents Past and Plans for the Future. It had a compilation of new year resolutions, goals and very unusual gifts people received this past Christmas. This one gift definitely wins the price for the most frugal. This persons Aunt apparently gave them what looked like two cut out coupons from Bed, Bath & Beyond. You know…the kind we get in the mail for 20% or the kind we cut out from flyers. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree because her grandmother then gave her a four pack of crayons. They appeared to be the kind kids get at the restaurant to color with.

The Hideous Gift…

Have you ever received a gift that was a substitute for something you wanted, but the giver couldn’t find the exact item so they improvised? Perhaps it turned out well for you. Or perhaps it would have been better if they didn’t go through such efforts because the gift they found was absolutely hideous. Such as the case of one lady also found in the same article as above. She fell head over heals for this modern and fashionable purse which wasn’t available in her area. So her husband went out shopping in nearby areas to try and find a purse that he thought looked much like it. Well being from hickville his taste was a little old fashioned and grammaish (I know that’s not a real word), he found the opposite of the stylish purse. It looked the same to him though.  It was so hideous she made him take it back. Hey you have to give him credit for paying attention and trying. Right?
